Malaak takes its name from the Arabic word for Angel.
We chose the name when we founded the studio because it reflected the role we wanted to play: helping artists and brands understand what makes them distinct and giving them the creative direction and support to express it clearly.
Malaak was founded by creatives with Arab, African, and Filipino roots. That mix of backgrounds has been part of the studio from the beginning, informing the references we bring to the table, the questions we ask, and the work we create.
Today, we work across brand, culture, and creative practice, from strategy and identity to campaigns, content, and visual storytelling. The work changes from project to project, but our approach remains the same: understand what is already there, identify what matters, and make it stronger.
